Heinz Food Heroes – the new awards programme from Heinz and Arena – is making a final call for entries ahead of the closing date on 18th September. The initiative recognises foodies who have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact on their community. Open to the whole food industry, the awards spotlight both the individuals and companies with a supportive prize package of £5,000-per-category for a training or mentorship programme of the winner’s choice.

Since the awards opened in July, entries have come in from all corners of the industry highlighting several great initiatives. They have included everything from big batch cooking, meals on wheels and online zumba classes through to food boxes for the elderly, pizza kits for children, free meals for the NHS, charities and homeless shelters.

Jojo de Noronha, Kraft Heinz Northern Europe president, said: “We launched the Heinz Food Heroes awards to recognise the dedication of individuals working hard and going above and beyond to make a difference in their communities. 2020 is an exceptionally difficult year and it’s humbling to hear about all the support that both individuals and companies have given, and continue to give, to help those around them.”

The programme is open to anyone who works in the food industry. To nominate someone, or yourself, visit www.heinz.co.uk/heroes.
